Ammunition Inside House Set off as FL Crews Battle Blaze

Firefighters from multiple departments stayed out of range of the ammunition as it went off, and they put out the flames, which partially collapsed the house in Sanford.

Ammunition inside a burning house was set off while crews multiple Florida battled the residential blaze Sunday.

The fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. at a home in Sanford, Seminole County EMS/Fire/Rescue stated in an online update. Firefighters were kept at a safe distance while they doused the flames as the ammunition went off, according to WOFL-TV.

The blaze caused the house to partially collapse, and the residence was considered a total loss. Two people were inside the house at the time of the fire, but both were able to safely escape.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
