FDNY Firefighter Injured in Two-Story House Blaze

Around 60 FDNY firefighters and 12 units battled a blaze that broke out at a home in Meiers Corners on Staten Island, sending one firefighter to the hospital.

An FDNY firefighter was injured during a two-story house blaze early Wednesday.

The fire broke out shortly before 4 a.m. at a house in Meiers Corners on Staten Island, the Staten Island Advance reports. Twelve units and around 60 firefighters responded to the call.

The injured firefighter was taken to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton. The condition of the firefighter was not released.

Crews had the fire under control by about 4:30 a.m., according to the Advance.
