FDNY Firefighter Among Two Injured in Residential Blaze

An FDNY firefighter was among two people injured during an early Wednesday apartment blaze in Brooklyn.

The fire broke out shortly before 4:30 a.m. in a top-floor apartment of a six-story building in Brooklyn's Prospect Lefferts-Gardens neighborhood, WPIX-TV reports. Around 60 FDNY firefighters from 12 units responded to the call.

A firefighter suffered a minor injury battling the blaze and was taken to the hospital. A civilian also suffered minor injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital.

The fire was under control shortly after 5 a.m., according to WPIX. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
