The rupture, in the area of Michigan Avenue and Nebraska Avenue near the Black Bear Wilderness area, occurred just after midnight, the Seminole County Fire Department said.
The cause is being investigated.
Seminole County, Sanford and Lake Mary Fire Departments were deployed with 21 units and 37 personnel to put out brush fires in the area, SCFD reported.
The gas line was shut down at about 2:35 a.m.
