VA Firefighter Injured Battling 2-Alarm Hotel Blaze

Roanoke firefighters responded to a blaze that broke out on the first floor of a hotel late Saturday before spreading to the building's upper levels.

A Virginia firefighter was injured during a two-alarm hotel blaze late Saturday.

The fire broke out shortly after 11:40 p.m. on the first floor of a hotel in Roanoke, WFXR-TV reports. The flames eventually spread through the walls and to the second and third floors of the hotel.

While battling the blaze, a firefighter suffered a minor injury and was taken to the hospital before being released Sunday. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to WFXR.
