Long Beach Fire Department crews battled cold temperatures for nearly an hour to get the flames under control of a house that caught fire early Thursday.

A New York firefighter was among three people injured during a house fire early Thursday.

The fire broke out shortly before 3 a.m. at a Long Beach home, the fire department said in an online update. Crews battled cold temperatures for nearly an hour to get the flames under control.

All the house's occupants were able to escape the fire on their own. Two occupants and a firefighter suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene, according to the department.

The Nassau County Fire Marshals Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
