Lakewood firefighters worked to control a two-alarm fire as it tore through an apartment building Saturday and displaced multiple families.
Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire and crews were able to see a smoke column and requested a general alarm, Jersey Shore Fire Response reported on their YouTube video.
Initially, crews made an offensive attack through the front of the building.
As conditions changed and fire broke through the rear and roof of the structure and a second alarm was requested.
The fire was brought under control and, in a tweet by Red Cross New Jersey, it was reported that 20 families have been displaced.
