Four MD Townhomes Damaged by Fire

A two-alarm fire in Annapolis destroyed a townhome and left a firefighter injured.

A firefighter was sent to the hospital and multiple families were displaced after fire tore through townhomes early Wednesday morning in Annapolis.

Anne Arundel County firefighters responded to a reported house fire on the 1600 block of Elkwood Court around 1:30 a.m., according to WUSA9.

Firefighters arrived to find multiple townhomes with heavy fire conditions and worked to control the fire and prevent extension the adjacent units.

Roughly 50 firefighters from Anne Arundel, Annapolis City, and the Naval Academy worked to control the flames.

A Naval Academy firefighter was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
