Chicago Firefighter Injured Battling South Side House Blaze

Crews extinguished a fire that broke out at a home in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood that sent flames shooting through the top part of the structure.

A Chicago firefighter was hurt during a blaze the broke out at a South Side house early Wednesday.

Crews responded to the fire in the city's Englewood neighborhood shortly before 4 a.m., WBBM-TV reports. When firefighters reached the scene, they saw flames erupting from the top part of the home.

While battling the blaze, a firefighter suffered undisclosed injuries and was taken to the hospital.
