Around 60 Texas firefighters battled a two-alarm apartment fire early Wednesday.

Fort Worth crews responded to a fire at a two-story apartment building on the city's east side shortly after 1 a.m., according to the department. At the scene, they encountered heavy flames, and the fire was raised to a second alarm.

With the second alarm, 12 units were called to the scene, as well as eight support units. Crews were able to extinguish the blaze within 45 minutes, the department said.

The fire caused major damage to 12 apartments, which displaced multiple people, the department added. No injuries were reported.
