In a busy night for Los Angeles crews, 100 firefighters tackled a blaze that erupted at a row of single-story retail units early Tuesday.
The fire broke out at about 12:30 a.m. in the city's Boyle Heights neighborhood, KTLA-TV reports. The incident was one of at least three major fires that Los Angeles firefighters responded to overnight.
Crews spent more than two hours working to put out the blaze, which proved challenging because of some of the damage.
“This was an extended operation due to the difficulty accessing all areas of the fire because of the roof collapse,” the said in a statement, according to KTLA.
