Four FDNY Firefighters Injured in 4-Alarm Bronx Blaze

More than 160 FDNY firefighters battled heavy smoke and flames from a multi-alarm blaze that erupted at a single-story bicycle shop in the Wakefield section of the Bronx.

Four FDNY firefighters were injured battling a four-alarm commercial blaze Monday in the Bronx.

The fire broke out shortly after 8 p.m. at a bike shop in the Wakefield area of the borough, WCBS-TV reports. More than 160 firefighters responded to the call at the single-story structure.

Crews faced heavy smoke and flames working to put out the fire, which disrupted subway service. Four firefighters suffered minor injuries in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to WCBS.
