Los Angeles County firefighters and Pomona police rescued two people from a burning house early Tuesday.

The fire broke out shortly before 1 a.m. at a home in Pomona, according to Loud Labs News. Pomona police arrived at the scene first, and officers rescued one person from the blaze.

Once fire crews arrived, they were told that another person was still inside the house. Firefighters were able to pull the second person out.

Both people were taken to the hospital in critical condition. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
