Over 160 FDNY Firefighters Battle 4-Alarm Commercial Blaze

FDNY crews worked for more than six hours to put out a massive fire that broke out in the basement of a strip of shops and restaurants in Queens before spreading to upper floors.

More than 160 FDNY firefighters battled a four-alarm commercial blaze in Queens late Friday.

The fire broke out shortly after 11 p.m. in the basement of a strip of shops and restaurants, WABC-TV reports. The flames then spread to the higher floors of the businesses.

Crews worked for more than six hours to get the fire under control. One firefighter suffered minor injuries during the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
