Dec. 30, 2021
Chicago firefighters used a defensive attack as flames spread through all three floors of a commercial building.

Chicago firefighters called a second alarm for a stubborn, smoky fire in commercial building early Wednesday.

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke from the building on the 500 block of West 26th Street and made an interior attack.

When conditions did not improve, command ordered a second alarm, according to a tweets from the fire department.

Fire engulfed all three floors of the building and firefighters set up an aerial platform, Snorkel and ladder pipe to battle the fire.

Fire officials said a 90-year-old woman in an adjacent building was transported for smoke inhalation.
