A North Attleboro business owner has been charged with arson after reportedly setting fire to her own store.

Vicki Bertelson, 46, was observed on camera smoking a cigarette in G.I. Joe's Army and Navy Store, WPRI reported.

Then, a bright light is seen coming from her hand as she stepped out of frame. Shortly thereafter, a small flame ignites a display.

Firefighters saved the building.

After the fire started, police reported she went to a restaurant where patrons claimed she was speaking loudly on her phone about it being “her last meal” and that she was going to jail for arson, according to a police report.
