A three-alarm fire destroyed an auto repair business in the Bronx over the weekend. The intense fire conditions caused the roof to collapse, prompting a mayday call.

The fire was reported at 11 p.m. Saturday at the one-story building on Park Avenue near Claremont Parkway, according to ABC7NY.com.

“We arrived to find heavy fire throughout the building. We had firefighters inside the building for a short while. Just after we pulled everybody out, we had a collapse of the roof,” John Esposito, Chief of Operations said in a statement

FDNY officials said one firefighter was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The fire was placed under control almost four hours after firefighters arrived..
