April 10, 2024
FDNY firefighters battled a multiple-alarm fire in a Bronx automotive repair shop. When the roof collapsed, a mayday was called.

A three-alarm fire destroyed an auto repair business in the Bronx over the weekend. The intense fire conditions caused the roof to collapse, prompting a mayday call.

The fire was reported at 11 p.m. Saturday at the one-story building on Park Avenue near Claremont Parkway, according to ABC7NY.com.

“We arrived to find heavy fire throughout the building. We had firefighters inside the building for a short while. Just after we pulled everybody out, we had a collapse of the roof,” John Esposito, Chief of Operations said in a statement
