Three-Story Building Fire in Pawtucket, RI, Reignites

A firefighter who ran out of air was removed from the house through a window, Pawtucket Chief John Trenteseaux said.

A large fire that broke out in Pawtucket Wednesday afternoon, reignited a few hours later.

“One of the firefighters on the third floor had run out of air and he had trouble getting out. We had to take him out through the window," Pawtucket Fire Chief John Trenteseaux told WPRI. 

“It was just hot and [the building was] full of smoke. It was beating everyone up, It was not a good day to have a fire.”

Five firefighters were transported to the hospital for treatment. 

The first fire broke out in the afternoon. Firefighters left but returned several hours later and found flames coming from the third floor.
