One Dead, Seven Hurt in Blast at Youngstown, OH, Building

While natural gas is suspected in the blast at the Chase Bank building, the Ohio state fire marshal's office is investigating.

A powerful explosion at a Youngstown bank Tuesday afternoon left a 27-year-old man dead and seven others injured. 

Youngstown firefighters found the man's body during a search of the area, WTAE reported adding that the victim worked at the bank. 

The front of the Realty building where the Chase Bank was located was destroyed in the blast that authorities suspect was caused by natural gas.

There were apartments above the bank. Fire officials closed streets near the incident and urged residents to stay away.

Investigators with the Ohio State Fire Marshal's Office are continuning the probe.
