Fire Destroys 10 Rigs at Kenner, LA, Shipping Hub

May 8, 2025
Foam was used as 17 fuel tanks on the rigs ruptured, Kenner Fire Chief Jason Dyer said.

Lightning has been ruled out for starting a massive blaze that destroyed 18-wheeler cabs.

Firefighters found seven cabs burning at CRC, a local trucking company.

Kenner Fire Chief Administrator Jason Dyer told WVUE the fire spread quickly and eventually 10 cabs were involved.

“We ended up bringing three engines, a ladder and a squad out there. From the time we arrived and got the hose line set up, we had another two trucks on fire.”

Foam was used when firefighters discovered fuel tanks were ruptured.

Watching video footage, officials watched the fire spreading.

"...Mother Nature is not going to be the cause of this fire."
