Fire Rips Through Fort Worth Apartments

Close to two dozen fire units battled a fire that ripped through a Fort Worth apartment building on Aug. 22.

Firefighters were called to the two-story building at the Fairway Estates Apartment complex around 6 p.m. and Engine 20 reported heavy fire showing.

Crews began an interior attack, but 15 minutes into the firefight, intense flames and deteriorating conditions forced crews to retreat.

A second alarm was called and companies worked to bring the fire under control at 7:30 p.m.

Five of the eight units were occupied and 14 people were dispalced.

No injuries were reported.
