Drivers planning to travel on Interstate 35 through Dallas on Monday afternoon might experience traffic delays.

A box truck ran off the roadway and was hanging from an overpass with the driver still inside in the northbound lanes of I-35E near Victory Avenue as of 3:15 p.m., according to police and fire officials.

One other vehicle was involved in the crash and a person from that vehicle was taken to a hospital, according to the Dallas Fire-Rescue. The severity of that person’s injuries was not immediately clear.

After stabilizing the truck, teams used two aerial ladders — one on the road below the truck and the second above the cab of the truck — and a rope system to reach the driver, secure him in a harness and lift him to safety, officials said. He was then take to the hospital for evaluation.

The crash occurred about 2:35 p.m. and was blocking multiple lanes, including the entrance and exit ramp, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
