Columbus Division of Fire firefighters rescued a worker who became stuck in an excavation site collapse.

Columbus firefighters rescued a worker who became stuck at an excavation site when a collapse occurred trapping him in the mud.

Firefighters were called to rescue the man at the Marth Morehouse Outpatient Care building on The Ohio State campus after the collapse contorted his body in a way that prevented him from getting free, WBNS 10TV reported.

Fire officials said crews had to work carefully to free the worker due to unstable ground. When firefighters freed the worker, they used a stokes basket and ladder truck to lift him to safety.
