New Orleans FFs Rescue Kids in Flood as Mom Gives Birth

While an ambulance was motoring through flood waters to get an expectant mother to the hospital, New Orleans firefighters were getting her three other children to safety.

New Orleans firefighters were not only able to get a mom to the hospital to give birth Wednesday, but crews also were able to save her other three children from flooding.

The rescue happened in the city's Gentilly area, WGNO-TV reports. While an ambulance was able to move through the floodwaters to get Mom to the hospital, firefighters were able to carry her three kids through those same waters to safety.
