Ala. Firefighter Burned in Flashover

A Duncanville volunteer firefighter was burned during a flashover at a house fire on Wednesday night (Feb. 3), according to The Tuscaloosa News.Firefighter Casey Hinsey, 29, was burned on his hands, arm, neck and face and is recovering at the UAB Burn Center in Birmingham."He's going to be OK, but he's got some healing to do," Chief Billy Doss told the newspaper.

Firefighter Casey Hinsey, 29, was burned on his hands, arm, neck and face and is recovering at the UAB Burn Center in Birmingham.

"He's going to be OK, but he's got some healing to do," Chief Billy Doss told the newspaper.

Only smoke was showing when crews entered the house off of Overland Road around 6 p.m., but it quickly grew, officials said.

The fire had started under the house and the cause is believed to be electrical. The home was a total loss.
