Video Captures Chicago Firefighter Being Hit by Aerial

An eyewitness captured video of a close call on the roof of a Chicago building fire.

An eyewitness captured video of a close call where a firefighter operating on the roof was struck by an aerial ladder.

The March 23 commercial building fire occurred in the 2200 block of West Grand.

Video footage that's shot across he street from the fire shows firefighters exiting the roof as flames begin to break through.

A firefighter is shown looking over a parapet wall (at 2:00) when it appears he is struck by the aerial ladder that is being moved. The firefighter stumbles into the parapet and their helmet drops to the ground. 

A part of the chimney next to the firefighter is also knocked loose and falls to the ground.

One firefighter suffered non-life threatening injuries in a fall, according to tweets from the Chicago Fire Department. A second firefighter was also injured.
