Firefighter Struck at Okla. Grass Fire

A pickup crashed into the fire truck where the firefighter was standing.

A firefighter who was standing on the back of a fire truck at a Long Grove grass fire was injured Monday after being hit by a car.

The firefighter was working to contain the grass fire from the man well, a steel platform with railings, when a pickup driver crashed into the fire truck.

"I was driving, and it was smoky so i took off my sunglasses," driver Jonathan Curb, 18, told KXII. "And I didn't get over in time."

The firefighter suffered leg injuries and was transported to the hospital. 

The extent of his injuries were not released.
