A North Carolina firefighter was trapped and injured after a tree fell on his pickup truck as he was driving to his fire station Thursday.
The unidentified Northwood firefighter was heading to the Tolarsville station as part of the department's Hurricane Dorian response, the department said in an online update. That's when a tree struck his personal vehicle, trapping him inside.
Northwood crews, as well as Lumberton Rescue & EMS and Roberson County EMS, responded to the accident. The firefighter was extricated from his truck and taken to a local hospital.
Although details about the firefighter's weren't released, the department said they weren't considered life-threatening.
