An FDNY firefighter who was struck by a falling air conditioner at a Brooklyn fire was released from the hospital.

Firefighter James Torsney of Ladder 172 received applause as he left Lutheran Hospital on Tuesday night, according to a video posted online by NYCFireWire. Torsney can be seen giving fellow firefighters high-fives as he is wheeled out.

While battling a two-alarm fire Monday in Brooklyn's Bensonhurst neighborhood, Torsney was walking to the street when an air condition fell on his head. The impact knocked Torsney unconscious, and he was hospitalized in stable to serious condition.

Video from the scene captured the incident, and a shout of "medic" can be heard as other firefighters scramble to help.

Five other FDNY firefighters also were injured in the fire, the department said.
