Two Milwaukee firefighters shoveling snow off their station ramp were struck by a vehicle and injured.

Two Milwaukee firefighters were injured after being struck by a vehicle while shoveling snow from the ramp of Fire Station 4 Monday.

Shortly after 7 a.m., a vehicle traveling eastbound on Appleton Avenue left the roadway and crossed over the sidewalk and the station's front lawn.

It struck the two firefighters, then spun and hit the fire station, Fire Chief Aaron Lipski told the Milwaukee Journal.

The two injured firefighters received immediate medical attention from co-workers before being transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lipski said the driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

The station received minor damage.
