Firefighters in Clackamas County Fire District No. 1 Milwaukie, Oregon, choose to christen the department's brand new Pierce 100-foot tiller aerial on Sept. 11 to honor those responders who died in the attacks.
The new apparatus, which cost $975,000, was ceremonially "pushed" into Station Four by firefighters as it was put in service.
The new rig features a Command Zone communications system, hands-free SCBA brackets, and Pierce TAK-4 independent front suspension.
It also features Whelen warning lights and Havis high-voltage scene lighting, Hannay cord reels, Kussmaul battery conditioner, a Federal Q siren and Duo-Safety ground ladders.
It was sold by Hughes Fire Equipment, Springfield, Oregon.
