Berlin, NJ, received the first Pierce Ascendant 107-foot aerial ladder to see duty in New Jersey.

Berlin, NJ, received the first Pierce Ascendant 107-foot aerial ladder to see duty in New Jersey. Known as Quint 21-1, it has a 2,000-gpm pump and 500-gallon water tank. It's powered by a Cummins ISL engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. The cab has seating for six plus one storage cabinet. There are three crosslay hose beds, front discharge and two hose bed compartments that contain ground ladders.  In addition, there is a Harrison 6 kW generator, back up camera and all LED lighting.
