Windsor Locks, CT, Fire Department as selected purchased a 2016 Seagrave pumper to replace a 1990 Mack that has provided service to the community for over 25 years.

Windsor Locks, CT, Fire Department as selected purchased a 2016 Seagrave pumper to replace a 1990 Mack that has provided service to the community for over 25 years.  The new Engine 3 replaces Engine 6, a 1990 Mack CF/Ranger custom pumper. The new Seagrave unit is built on a Marauder II cab and chassis with a raised roof. It is powered by a Cummins ISX 12 500-hp engine and an Allison 4000EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous two-stage 1,500-gpm pump and a 1,000-gallon water tank with a 30-gallon foam cell. It also has a stainless steel body, a 10,000-watt generator, FRC LED scene lights, Whelen warning lights, and internal ladder and pike pole storage.
