The West Babylon Fire Department has taken delivery of a custom-built Pierce Ascendant 100-foot heavy-duty aerial tower that's built on a Pierce Velocity chassis. It is powered by a 605-hp Cummins X15 engine with an Allison EVS 4000 transmission.
The apparatus has an overall height of 10 feet, 11 inches and an overall length of 43 feet, 9 inches.
Some features include emergency lighting by Whelen, scene lighting by HiViz, a Federal Q2B siren and Grover air horns.
