An alleged drunk driver struck a Texas apparatus being used as a blocker while responding to a stalled vehicle in high water early Tuesday.
The incident happened at about 2 a.m. under an overpass along Interstate 27, Lubbock Fire Rescue stated in an online update. Firefighters with Engine 1 were responding to a call concerning a vehicle that had stalled in high water.

The apparatus was blocking traffic when it was struck in the rear bumper by a passenger car. Four firefighters were in the rig during the crash, but they were uninjured.
The car's driver was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with an expired registration and driving without a license, according to the fire department.
"MOVE OVER and SLOW DOWN," the department stated.
