Savannah, GA, Fire Department Puts Heavy Rescue in Service

The Savannah, GA, Fire Department has put a new SVI Trucks heavy rescue in service. The unit, with a 22-foot body, is built on a Sutphen Monarch cab and chassis with a 20-inch raised roof. It is powered by a Cummins L9 engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. It is equipped with an Onan 25,000-watt PTO generator, Hannay reels, Firetech HiViz perimeter lighting, OnScene Solutions slide-out trays and compartment lighting, R.O.M. roll-up doors, a Command Light light tower and Whelen warning and scene lights.
