Delivery: Atkinson, IL, Heavy Rescue
The Atkinson, IL, Fire Protection District has taken delivery of a custom-built Alexis Fire Equipment heavy rescue that's built on a Spartan Metro Star LFD chassis. It is powered by a 450-hp Cummins L9 engine with an Allison 3000 EVS transmission and has seating for six with four SCBA seats.
The rescue body and sub-frame are constructed of heavy duty stainless steel with ROM roll-up doors.
The vehicle features a four bank 6,000-PSI cascade system with fill panel and bottle enclosure, Onan 25,000-watt PTO generator, Night Scan Powerlite light tower with Dual Tilt Whelen Super-LEDs, and Hannay cord reels for power and air supply.
