The Mission, TX, Fire Department has added more power to its firefighting efforts with the purchase of a pumper from Toyne, an Iowa-based, fire apparatus manufacturer. The new apparatus features technology that will allow the department to better respond to calls in the Mission area. It is built on a Spartan Metro Star MFD 10-inch cab and chassis, powered by a Cummins ISL 450 horsepower engine and an Allison 3000EVS transmission. To fight fire, it has a Waterous 1,500 gpm pump and a UPF 1,000-gallon tank. Other equipment includes a TFT XFT-NJ monitor with a 12-inch extension and a FoamPro 1600 Class A foam system.
