If you're a "news junkie" like I am, you've no doubt seen it on every local and national newscast. Headlining the top of every major newspaper (especially the Wall Street Journal) and the front of many magazines. On June 2, 2003, the Federal Communications Commission made media history, by adopting new broadcast ownership rules. These new rules will allow many of the media heavy hitters, the ability to own more than one or two broadcast outlets in certain markets and in others, to own both broadcast and print outlets, thus reaching approximately 45% of their market.
So what's in it for us as public information officers and press relations' people? Well not much; but then again, quite a bit! Let me explain. In Los Angeles County, the #2 media market in the nation, there is not one
