Man Jumps from Cleveland House Fire Where Another was Killed

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A man is dead and another is in critical condition following an early Sunday morning house fire.

The surviving victim suffered injuries after he jumped out of a second-story window of a home on East 121st Street to escape the blaze, WKYC reported. Cleveland fire crews responded to the fire around 4:20 a.m.

A 60-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 45-year-old man was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Officials did not share his current condition.

A firefighter also sustained a back injury during the event and is reported to be in stable condition.

Officials are investigating what caused the fire and estimated that it caused $150,000 in damage to the home.
