Sep. 29—Two men were killed in a house fire on Sunday in the Village of Sun in rural St. Tammany Parish, the State Fire Marshal reports.
The two men have not yet been identified by the St. Tammany Coroner's Office, but the fire marshal said they were "southeast Louisiana men" and that one was 76 and the other was 56. The home was on Sun Driver, the St. Tammany Sheriff's Office said.
A coroner's spokesperson said Monday investigators are still working to identify the victims.
St. Tammany firefighters responded to the fire at 3:18 p.m. Sunday and State Fire Marshal deputies are working with the Sheriff's Office to determine the cause of the blaze.
Because of the extent of the damage, they are not sure if the home had a working smoke alarm, the fire marshal said in a press release.
The St. Tammany Parish Fire Districts 6, 8, 9 and 12 responded to the fire.
