WARREN, R.I. -- Local and state fire officials are investigating a suspicious fire early Thursday that destroyed a camp trailer, a pickup truck and a van and that damaged the roof of a commercial building on Cutler Street, according to Fire Chief Alexander Galinelli.
The call came in at 1:43 a.m. for the fire that started in the camp trailer before spreading to the other vehicles, and then the roof of the building, which houses an auto-service shop, Galinelli said.
No one was hurt in the fire.
Officials consider the fire suspicious because it is the fourth in a string of fires that have started around 1:30 to 1:40 a.m. in recent days, the chief said. The first was a trash can fire, then a shed, and then a large, commercial trash container. "Now it's getting bigger," he said.
