Stolen TX Ambulance Crashes into Gas Pumps

The man who stole the San Augustine County EMS rig was flown to a hospital for treatment.

An ambulance stolen from a hospital crashed into gas pumps at a convenience store.

The man hopped into the San Augustine County EMS ambulance while the crew was in the emergency department with a patient Thursday afternoon, according to CBS19

Police pursued the ambulance on U.S. 69 toward Pollock at speeds about 80 mph.

The rig turned onto its side after striking the gas pumps.

The driver was flown to a hospital for treatment. Charges are pending.
