A Los Angeles police officer suffered a minor injury early Monday while apprehending a man who stole a Long Beach Fire Department ambulance.
The ambulance was stolen about 2:45 a.m. from Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in San Pedro, KTLA reported.
Fire officials informed police they were tracking the ambulance and relayed the location.
An officer found the vehicle in San Pedro and a scuffle ensued while he was talking with the suspect, who was wearing a firefighter's jacket.
The officer suffered a hand injury.
Police said the suspect had the keys to the ambulance.
