An unoccupied private ambulance caught fire and exploded Wednesday in Bladensburg, Md., and it was captured on video.

Crews responded to the incident on Rhode Island Avenue at approximately 2:30 p.m. and had the fire knocked down in about 10 minutes, according to The Gazette.

No one was inside the ambulance and no one was injured.

Fire Chief Randy Kuenzli, who shot the video, told the newspaper that he does not know what caused the LifeStar Corp. ambulance to explode, or where it was going or coming from.

Mike Davis, a clerk at the Mount Rainier Post Office near where the explosion took place, said he called 911 after seeing smoke.

"I saw smoke, and by time I was dialing 911, I heard the explosion," he said.
