ROLLINSFORD, N.H. --
Former volunteer firefighters said the Rollinsford fire chief physically threatened them and forced them off the job.
Fire Chief Harry Knowles is charged with criminal threatening.
Former volunteer Matt Heath said Knowles asked why he and fellow volunteer Leif Goodwin didn't answer a call back in September.
Heath said Knowles starting yelling at them before they could give an answer. They said Knowles also tried to punch them but was stopped by a fire deputy. Heath and Goodwin were fired.
Knowles was not available for comment.
