Firefighters discovered the body of a 41-year-old woman late Monday inside her smoldering West Side home.
The victim, Jeanie Campbell, was found in a back bedroom while firefighters made a sweep of the home in the 900 block of 38th Street after they put out the fire.
Fire officials were not sure if Campbell died as a result of the blaze.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy Tuesday to determine an official cause of death.
Neighbors called 911 at 11 p.m. after they noticed the home engulfed in flames.
Arson investigators are searching for clues to determine what caused the fire.
Damage to the home and contents was estimated at $70,000.
