Fire Destroys Pennsylvania Amusement Park Landmark

CONNEAUT LAKE, Pa. --

Fire destroyed a historic ballroom at a northwest Pennsylvania amusement park late Friday, NewsChannel5 reported.

Flames fully engulfed the 99-year-old Dreamland Ballroom at Conneaut Lake Park, about 45 miles south of Erie.

Firefighters from 16 companies battled the blaze, but could not save the historic building.

There was no word yet on the cause.

Several e-mails to newsnet5.com alerted the station about the blaze.
