Lake St., according to Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford. "The whole buildings burned up," according to Langford. Crews were still putting water on hot spots from ladders and monitoring corrosive chemicals present in the warehouse around 6:45 a.m., Langford. "We will be there for a while," Langford said. "Theres some nasty stuff [chemicals] in there." CTA Green Line trains will travel through the area, but not stop, said Langford, who added it was going to be a "slow zone" until the fire crews fully clean up the fire. Power was restored to the Green Line at 6:52 a.m. and trains were making all scheduled stops except for the Ashland station, according to CTA spokeswoman Robyn Ziegler. Pink Line service has returned to normal, but will not stop at the Ashland station, Ziegler said. Crews were probing the rubble for clues to the cause fire, and do not know where the fire began in the warehouse as of 7 a.m., Langford said. Copyright 2006, Chicago Sun-Times Inc.
