New York: Second of 2 City Fires Proves Puzzling

May 20, 2005
Three firefighters suffered minor injuries, ranging from smoke inhalation to bruises.

The extent of the destruction at the second of two house fires on Parker Avenue Wednesday has posed problems for fire investigators trying to determine how the blaze started, the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department said.

Fire investigators from the police and fire departments were able to quickly determine that the fire at 52 Parker Ave., which started about 1:07 a.m. Wednesday, was started by an electrical problem. That fire is still being investigated as authorities try to determine specifically how it originated.
